"WE TAKE CARE OF OUR CUSTOMERS"

How We Are Different

Most people don’t realize that most carpets have been tested and rated according to their performance. This is called the Durability Rating. It answers the question, “How is this product going to look in five and ten years?” For the first time in history, we have a good idea of how carpet is going to look. There have been some surprises.

The CRI (Carpet and Rug Institute) has a supervised test in which the carpet is walked on for 20,000 “foot traffics” and then it is independently evaluated. The Durability Rating is based on a scale of 0-5, in which 0 is walked (worn) out and 5 is brand new. Most products rate below 3. At 3.5, most mills will give a five year texture warrantee. 4.0 is the level at which you recommend it to a relative. And 4.25 is the highest practical level at which you can find a decent selection. Key Carpet, Inc. is different from other flooring companies because we prefer to sell carpet that performs at top quality ratings.
